015: From Inmate to Advocate
Joshua Horton, 32 years old from Atlanta Georgia. Currently residing in Oxford Mississippi. B.A. in Sociology from Ole Miss, 3.5 years in recovery. Graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College with thesis on Rehabilitation vs. Incarceration for non-violent substance abuse offenders. Currently in law school at Ole Miss and Current owner and CEO of Southern Recovery Advocacy, a non-profit organization based out of Oxford Mississippi. Working with multiple state and national organizations to bring advocacy, education, and opportunity to those suffering from substance abuse disorder and communities by reducing stigma and shifting policies.
